The International Congress on University Teaching and Innovation CIDUI will be taking place in Barcelona on 5-7 July 2016. This year’s theme is “Teaching and learning innovation impacts” and the congress will gather more than 500 professionals.

HEIRRI will be present at this Conference during the Symposium “Innovative teaching for a responsible and critic education” on 6th July by the hand of Niels Mejlgaard, from Aarhus University; Núria Saladié, from the Science, Communication and Society Study Centre (Pompeu Fabra University, UPF) and Nadja Gmelch, from the Catalan Association of Public Universities (ACUP); members of the HEIRRI consortium.

The symposium will be organized together with another project aimed largely at introducing the concept of RRI and Education for Development in university teaching too: the ESDU project – Promoting Education for Development in Catalan universities, led by the Solidarity Autonomous Foundation and which receives support from the Barcelona city council.

During the symposium the following questions will be addressed:
How can a contribution be made to transformative education through teaching innovation?
What practical examples do we have that foster transformative learning?
What kind of teaching can be offered so that future professionals consider the implications of their work in society?
How can these elements be introduced into university curriculums?
What opportunities and obstacles are their today for teaching innovation in the area of transformative learning?
