This talk will discuss the potential scale & power of content mining techniques to improve and support knowledge synthesis across ALL disciplines, and how/why open access publications tend to be particularly amenable to mining. Copyright problems (restrictive licencing) and how they impede mining & re-use will be a focus, with examples from many different disciplines, including both ‘STEM’ & ‘Humanities’ applications.
