A participatory and dynamic event where all attendees will learn about Open Science practices currently requested by the main Funding Agencies (Open Access & Open Data) and beyond. We will count with International Experts on the thematic who will introduce the main concepts from a practical point of view and researchers who have already adopted this new research management style at the UPM, which will be there to solve and answer all your doubts, fears, concerns or expectations.     Boosting societal impact with Open Science

    Dr. Ivo Grigorov (Technical University of Denmark, Foster+ advisor) will give responses to some of these hot topics: Why open?, The Rainbow of the Open Science, CC licences , Open Science and traditional Intellectual Property Rights. He will also comment on some of the benefits of Open Science as engine to boost Economic Growth & Social Innovation or synergies of Open Science with the concept of Open Innovation.

    Prof. Óscar Corcho (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) will introduce the term of Open Data, the elaboration of Data Management Plans to deal properly with data and the context of data repositories at regional, national and European Level.

    Open Access: A proper management

    Teresa Malo de Molina (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid) will present to the attendances the current status of the Open Access Framework in the Spanish Universities and María Boyer (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid) will introduce the services that Madroño network offers to support Open Science practices among researchers in the Comunidad de Madrid.

    Public engagement and Citizen science

    Dr. Ana Belén Cristóbal (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, GRECO Project) will introduce how GRECO project, a project devoted to research on energy solutions, is conducting resposible research and innovation, highlighting the activities of Public Engagement and Citzien Science as a path to foster the research and innovation activity at Universities and Research Centers.

    Open Science from a policy perspective

    Prof. Eva Méndez (Universidad Carlos III Madrid, President of the European Open Policy Platform) will introduce the activity that policy-advisors are performing to create new indicators for researchers’ assessment which support Open Science Practices.

    Wrap-up 1: How do you “feel” open science?

    All attendances will participate in the 6 thinking hats exercise, which will serve as a abasis to generate a Practical Guide on Open Science which will be edited in May 2020. This FAQS booklet aims at guiding other reserachers on Open Science Practices adoption from a pragmatic point of view: by answering the most frequent questions, concerns, doubts, hesitations or fears expressed by those of you that have to deal with Open Science.

    Wrap-up 2: Solving your questions

    A session devoted to solve the main questions or doubts that attendances have sent during the registration processes. All the questions will be solved anonymously.

  • 13:45 - 14:00

    Final debate

    Space devoted to discuss with all attendances any of the matters dealt during the event.
