This guide is designed for practitioners who seek assistance in evaluating outcomes from their citizen science projects, which are also known as Public Participation in Scientific Research (PPSR) projects. Evaluation is the systematic collection of information to determine strengths and weaknesses of programs, projects, and products, so as to improve their overall effectiveness. Evaluating outcomes from citizenscience participation is a high priority for practitioners, yet it is often rated as one of their greatest challenges. We have developed this guide to address this need and provide support to practitioners with limited evaluation experience in carrying out a quality evaluation of their project.
