Open Science is receiving more and more attention within academia. Policy makers and funders are putting open research practices onto the agenda. And while many researchers know about open access to research publications and research data management, only a few have a good sense of what Open Science actually is (https://ec.europa.eu/research/openscience/pdf/os_skills_wgreport_final.pdf).

This one-day workshop addresses this knowledge gap by providing both a theoretical and a practical introduction to Open Science. The morning sessions will further the participants’ general understanding of Open Science and give insight into the political motivations behind Open Science. The afternoon sessions will provide a hands-on introduction to how the entire research workflow can be made (more) open and the tools that can be used to achieve this.
