Open access publishing: a user perspective

In this lecture, I will share my experiences in dealing with the recent Open Access requirements of the funding agencies and local universities. Even though there is a wide support for the Open Access concept in the scientific community, several practical and financial issues occur in practice and the researcher often finds herself between the, sometimes opposing, interests of the scientific journals and funding agencies. I will also share experience with sharing publications on repositories and the challenge of archiving publications when multiple databases and websites exist.
