Luc Henry

Bio

Luc Henry earned his DPhil in Chemical Biology from the University of Oxford. He completed his doctoral degree in 2011, spent some time studying cancer immunology at the Center for Integrative Genomics of the University of Lausanne and was then awarded a Marie Curie postdoctoral fellowship to work on synthetic biology in yeast at EPFL. While being a researcher, he was a regular contributor to The Conversation UK, eventually leaving the lab to take the Managing Editor position at the science magazine Technologist in 2014. He was appointed in an advisory position to the President and Director of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) in 2016. He came back to EPFL in his current role as advisor to the President in January 2017. He is the co-founder of the community laboratory Hackuarium, and the co-founder of the crowdfunding initiative Science Booster. He reads books as well – when he finds the time – and wears mostly Italian clothes.
